Custom Woodworking
When I build a piece of furniture I usually start with an image in my head or a rough sketch on a piece of paper. A rough sketch on a piece of paper is also how most custom woodworking projects get started. They are a collaboration wherein a client has a specific need for a specific space.
Designing something for a specific purpose is essentially about meeting requirements. These requirements can include conceptual, ergonomic, aesthetic, functional and structural considerations. I build with precision and balance. I consider form and function along with various criteria for storage and display. My extensive knowledge, experience and skill in the various disciplines of woodworking allow for a wide range of possibilities during the design and construction process. In other words, I know a lot of different ways to build things with a lot of different materials and because of that, I can offer my clients a unique perspective on how and what they want built.
